Dorchester County Accepting Applications for Summer Youth Employment Program
Dorchester County is now accepting applications for the 2022 Summer Youth Employment Program (SYEP).
The program is designed to provide teenagers and young adults (ages 16-22) who reside in Dorchester County an opportunity to develop workplace readiness skills and gain experience in local government. A variety of opportunities are available within Dorchester County Government in office administration, customer service, and the field of general labor.
Eligible individuals must meet the following criteria:
Be between the ages of 16 – 22 at the time of application submission
Be currently enrolled in high school or college (proof of enrollment is required)
Be a resident of Dorchester County
Able to attend orientation on Monday, June 13
Available to work a minimum of 20 hours, per week; maximum 130 hours during employment
The eight-week program begins on Monday, June 13, and ends on Friday, August 5.
The application deadline is 5:00 PM on May 9.
Applications can be submitted online via this website. Paper applications will not be accepted. Applicants without access to a computer may use a computer in the Dorchester County Human Resources Department (201 Johnston Street, St. George, SC 29477) or any Dorchester County Library.
